What it he/she?

Bought this fish. Was told it was a lab... don't know... no black topfin.

Probably a red zebra/lab hybrid... they are pretty common, but a pic would certainly help.

No "Yellow acei" listed on Live Fish Direct... a Yellow Tailed Acei, (Blueish fish, yellow fins) and seems to be a hormoned one at that.


Noki is correct that this is a kenyi.

Poor labelling on their part but they have Ps. Daktari as "yellow acei".

Yes, I see they do, and that name is not very common and confusing. Daktari do not really behave much like Acei, as a schooling open water fish. The site also seems to imply that both males and females are always yellow which is not correct... either a poor description or an attempt to confuse, matter of opinion.

Either way, it is a kenyi so it's not really a big deal what a daktari is
