Hello,

recently I noticed that one of my juvenile demasoni was idly swimming in top right corner of the tank. When I looked closer i noticed several white spots on her head with one on body. At the moment she is sitting under a shell without interest in food. Other fish in tank seem fine, no white spots. Could it be ich? Any thougts how can i help her?

Thanks for any help!!

White spots do sound like ich. But lurking under the surface also means harassment.

Isolate the fish in a hospital tank. If you can confirm ich (raised, white, size of a grain of salt?) then treat with heat and salt. See the Cichlid-forum Library for articles.

The fish may need to be rehomed...it will happen again unless your tank changes. What are the dimensions and stock?

I will put her to hospital tank as soon as I come home from work. Somehow images I posted are messed up but if you right click - open in new tab it opens imgur link. I think the white spots are bigger than grain of salt, looking bit moldy.

I'd order Kanaplex overnight and start treating immediately. You can also look in the Cichlid-forum Library to find out more about the disease...it is hard to cure and fast moving.
