Gorilla GLue?

Postby ka2zesmi786 » Thu Jun 07, 2012 1:26 am

i need to plug 3 holes at the bottom of my acrylic tank. little did i know that silicone wont cut it. due to the natural oils found in the plastic and the pressure it is put under, silicone is a nice temporary fix but will eventually fail. so i have to start all over. i was thinking of using gorilla glue to to glue together the patches of acrylic. is this good enough? im just trying to find a product that i can find at lowes or home depot. i have no clue where i can get weldon other than from online and i dont feel like spending a lot of money on shipping.

Have you looked into Weldon 16? Tapps, along with many other places carry it and all have very reasonable shipping.

I certainly wouldn't trust Gorilla Glue. It isn't even as strong as the much cheaper PVA glues for gluing wood.
