Well, the site of my peacock/hap tragedy is now a very lovely planted tank and I'm looking for some stocking help.

Particulars: 58-gallon (36" long), fully planted with 10 hours of light and pressurized CO2, Fluval 405. Temp currently 78. Ph will come down with C02 to less than 7.

What MUST go in:

School of rummynose tetras (approx. 16)
School of cories (bronze and possibly false jullis, too)
1 Male bristlenose pleco albino long-finned

What COULD go in:

Bolivian rams (what I'm leaning toward.) If so -- how many?
Angels (perhaps a pair with room for a dwarf cichlid pair?)
Laetracra (curviceps a pair?)
Apisto (do have a long female aggassizi who can go back to the LFS or move into this tank)
????

Any thoughts????

I'd say a pair of angels and pick 1 species of ground dwelling cichlid.

if you go Bolivians, I'd get 5, if you go Laetacara, I'd get a breed pair, and if you go Apistos, I'd get 1M:2-3F.

A pair of L. curviceps or L. araguaiae and a trio of A. agassizii.

Apistogramma Hongsloi are by far my favorite dwarfs that I've kept so far. I highly recommend them Smile

You could always go with some checkerboards too they're completely non-aggressive.

thanks for the ideas. I'll go check out checkerboards and dwarf pikes.

Would two angels and give Bolivians OR two angels and two laetacara work in your opinion?

Or should I go without the angels and let the Bolivians rule the tank???

I went with five Bolivians (now in QT) to be added to a school of rummies, cories and a BN pleco. Tank is very well planted and I'm extremely happy with how it looks. Also very happy with the Bolivians. They are nicely colored, with great personalities and they swim up to the glass and look at me. And are good eaters. I am very pleased with this decision. It almost (not really, but almost) makes up for my earlier tragedy . . . Smile

i have a 75 with 6 baby angels (growing out to get a pair) and 4 keyholes. works great.i think keyholes are very underrated and i have never kept any of the other dwarf species.

the angels/keyholes go great together.
