I always avoided the maulana because I thought it might clash with the red shoulder? Maybe because of the color in the tail its safe?

There are a few nice koningsi in stock tho. I may switch out the Usisya.

Thanks Danni!

There is enough variation between the two but personality-wise, the koningsi would be a better fit.

Well, I got my 2nd order of fish. Unfortunately one was DOA and the German Red is going to need to grow out before going into the main tank, he's only like 1.75" but starting to show decent color.

I added the Regal Blue since he was healthy and of the right size, and re-introduced the OB and Firefish. They all swam around and did the standard hello's and after a while the Firefish went nuts again, shoving all the other fish into a corner (except the OB!) Turns out they thought they could mate. They started doing the dance in one of their caves. I once again removed the Firefish but left the OB. Now the tank is getting along quite nicely! The OB is even one of the lower ranked fish now.

So now I have credit on my account and need to pick out more fish haha :fish:

Sounds like they're settling in nicely.

Try leaving the Firefish in timeout for a minimum of 3 weeks then reintroduce him. If he's still crazy, trade him in.

I'll try the Firefish one more time in a month. He owe's you one Danni! haha Thanks for all your help

I was thinking of Deep Water Hap and an Ethylwynnae Peacock for the replacement order. Can get them both for the price of the DOA fish. I cant see any color or pattern clashing with my other fish. Thoughts?

Both would do alright. The ethylwynnae is similiar in temperament to the maylandi, but he may be fine. The electra would do well.

I have had an ob and dragons blood also. Had to rehome both as they were way too aggressive.

Yeah.. Looks like my OB took over top spot again, but so far he's not being too bad.

My current order is still an Electra, and decided to try a Hap. Flame Back instead (starting to get out of Malawi now I guess) Oh well, I'm getting tired and just want to get this tank stocked and balanced.
(Also picking up a petricola catfish)

I'll try to make this my last post for this thread. Heres an update video.

I got the replacement order for the DOA fish. The Flameback Hap turned out big! Which is a good thing. Deep Water Hap is very beautiful with the different shades of blue!
Petricola Cats are still very small so it's in the growout with German Red.

The Electra ended up balancing the aggression very nicely! I'm excited to see how the Firefish will do after his timeout is over.

Thanks for everyones help! Enjoy the video. :fish:

Looks good!

(Note- when you add the German Red, try not to add him as a single fish.)

I have a beautiful male OB in my 75 tank it was pretty aggressive for awhile until I slightly over stocked the tank and put in a few fish bigger then him! My buddy kept insisting I get rid of him, but I'm glad I didn't he's beautiful and not quite as aggressive now!

Looks good but I'm wondering if you're not going to end up with too much fish for a 55. I guess time will tell. Good luck.
