Thanks ladies! My Saturday was kinda slow and somewhat depressing but... now that I have that freshly cycled and oh so aromatic cardboard box to look forward to... Ah seriously though you guys have me ROLLING! :D

Just think if you can get a breeding group! :thumb:

Finally... Ladyfish... I will PM you the filter information :)

I don't have any full tank shots because I left my camera card here at work :(. But here's a shot of the Lab/Rusty fry/juvies in the 33L. They are about 1/2" long. The white sand lightens up the Rusties significantly.

They are lovely, Dawg! I love the colors, and yeah they look good against the white sand. I like the rocks too. I'm thinking of using river rocks in my next tank :)

I would recommend using glass for your lids rather than acrylic because the acrylic will bow significantly within a short period of time.

If you choose to have a local glass company cut the glass, use non-tempered 1/8" or 3/16" thick panels if you want to use the store bought plastic hinges and back strip or you can DIY flexible hinges using silicone. They aren't as pretty as store bought but very effective.

Thanks Dee. For a tank that long, I agree that we could probably not find acrylic in thick enough panels to avoid the bowing problem. Didn't know about the tempered vs. non-tempered, so I'll keep that in mind, as well as the thickness. You have been very helpful once again! :)

Be sure to get the edges "seamed" (ground) or they'll be sharp and prone to chipping. I like using acrylic hinges that I silicone on.

Thanks Mike, I have acrylic hinges in plenty around the house (my hubby's projects). I didn't know about the seaming - just went to look at the top on my 20L, and I see what you mean. Appreciate the advice! :)

STILL have not heard from the gal!!! We had several nice chats on Friday, but haven't heard from her since. I've been biting my nails all weekend, but I might have to accept the fact that she sold it to someone closer. Still hoping I'll hear from her tomorrow. Maybe she had a busy weekend? Yeah that's it... :?

So looking at the pictures, there are two holes drilled into this tank. She informed me that they were there when she purchased the tank, and she plugged them. She used the tank for years with no issues. Anyway, I'm a bit leary and I really didn't like how the plugs looked, and wouldn't use it in my living room, so I made her a low offer. I can always use the tank for breeding or time-out or something! We'll see if she accepts it.

I can't blame you for being leery. Maybe you can post pics here and people will have suggestions for if they look okay, or how/if you could replug them so they WOULD be okay. :)

Thanks, Stori, good idea. However, I haven't heard back from her after my offer. Perhaps it was too low. That's okay, I'll keep looking (or let you know if she takes me up on it!)

Thanks everyone for your suggestions and feedback - really helped me make up my mind about what I want - and what I don't want! :)
