Received my 2nd of 2 orders this month. Hap Azureus trio with a show quality male, a young male Taiwan Reef, and todays shipment,(6) juvenile Deep water haps. Great ordering process and email follow up (did not use the telephone once through the entire process, even though I added fish to the existing order), flat rate overnight $34 shipping that arrives by 10-11am. Great stock quality and streamline sales process. They've got my business.

This was my 1st online order and I was a little hesitant about buying from this company at 1st. The only reason I did was because it was easy to select male hap/peacocks versus other vendors. I have to say the fish look great and were exactly what I expected. I will be ordering from this company again when I get another tank!

Brian taught me how to equip my tank with preferred hardware. Stopped by on sat to buy fish but Issac said worth the wait and shipping for a better assortment next weds. He cared more about getting me a better assortment then cash in hand! All 25 fish arrived perfect, got a discount for buying 25. All the fish eat well and 2 weeks later everything is fine. Size wise I got the mid size and there were some larger ones but no undersized so good there. Issac warned me some would need to grow awhile before coloring up and this is true of a couple but the fish are very colorful and readily identify-able. They don't always answer the phone, but are good with emails. I would give them an A+, and was happy I selected LFD.

I order some flake food from this place and it has been 2 weeks and still no flakes, no answer from my emails, never answer the phone and dont return my calls... never again now Im going have to report them to paypal see if I can get my refund.

I have used LFD multiple times now and have not been let down. However, their response time on e-mails is a bit to be desired. The quality of stock is good enough for me, I have really only gotten 1 sub par fish from them. They try their best to fulfill gender requests on "unsexed" fish. They are pretty accurate. I have gotten good response when calling. Credits for fish lost in the 14 day guarantee period are issued promptly are are easy to redeem. Overall, I would recommend this retailer to all. Also, their quality of shipping is great. I had an order show up live and well on a day when it was 15 degrees outside!

This was my first time buying fish on line and it was, without a doubt, the best fish-buying experience I have ever had. Thanks to all the prior reviewers and testimonials for alleviating my concerns about buying fish on line. The order included two males each of the following – Pundamilia nyererei (Anchor Island), Haplichromois sp. Flameback, turquoise hap, Eureka red jake, lemon jake, and Deepwater hap. The fish arrived, on the date and the time requested, in a well packed-box with a heat pack. All the fish were alive, very active and quickly adjusted to the new tank - begging for food within an hour. Although it was not needed, Josh and Isaac provided acclimation instructions, as well as general cichlid care information, via e-mail the night before the fish arrived. What really impressed me most is the size of the fish, in particularly the Anchor Island and Flamebacks. I was expecting 2.5-3 inch fish given the description on the website, but received 4-inchers that were fat and well-colored. All of the fish are far better than anything I have been able to get at my local fish stores, neither of which have a two-week guarantee on their fish like Live Fish Direct.

I ordered the Assorted Mbuna Mix from Live Fish Direct. I placed my order on a tuesday for delivery on saturday. When I made my purchase I noted in the additional comments that I would like pictures of my fish. I continued to try and contact them for the next couple days and they would not return my calls or emails. Then the day my shipment went out (or was supposed to) I recieved an email saying we could not ship your order because we would need more time to get pictures. I paid an additional $20 dollars on shipping for saturday deliver and I scheduled everything around saturday. I've been contacting them and they are not responding. They say on their answering machine that orders that have been paid for are among their top priorities. Well that's a lie.

I ordered a package of 12 all male haps/peacocks to be shipped to Montana. The order arrived promply and was safely packaged. All fish arrived in good condition. My only criticism is they did not label the bags or inform me via a packing slip of the types I received. Some were easy for me to identify from photos on their site, but there were many that weren't so obvious. It was difficult for me to make contact with them and when I finally did I was told they were very busy the day they shipped my order and didn't have time to label the bags. I was also told they merely snag fish that are nicely colored. My understanding was they would put some thought into the selection, chosing a mixture that was appropriate for the size of my tank and for compatability (color variation to minimize aggression.) They did instruct me to photograph the fish and send to them for identification, which I will do if I can find the time. Perhaps that's the way the packages work at all retailers so I won't judge them on that in terms of making future orders of specific fish.

I live nearby and went to the store to stock my tank. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. they probably have one of (if not the most) cichlids of all sizes. they even breed a majority of them right there. As of right now its a little messy there but they are geared towards wholesale and not walk ins. But they are undergoing a renovation and it will look gorgeous to the walk in customer.

This was my first on line order for fish. It was a great experience. The web page was easy to browse and find the stock. My fish arived as scheduled and were well packaged and in great shape. I recieved emails from Josh with instuctions on how to add the fish to my tank and on stocking levels for tanks.

I was very worried about ordering online so I made a trip to the Salt Lake City area and stopped in to their retail shop on a Friday. I actually showed up at a bad time for them as they were in the middle of transfering/setting up their tanks. The staff did a great job answering my questions and helping me find the exact fish I was looking for. I really liked the fact that the guys vented the fish for me to ensure I got the females I was looking for to go with the males I had purchased. The guys bagged my fish for the 4.5 hour trip to my house the same way they do for shipping including sealing the bags and adding oxygen to the bags. Everybody (26 fish) arrived in great condition and started eating right away. Will definately buy from Live Fish Direct again in the future thank you guys for your help.

The packaging of the fish is outstanding. They were double bagged in a very thick plastic material and sealed with a sealer. They were all alive and active. Ordered on a wednesday afternoon, shipped thurdsay night and received 9:50am friday. I ordered 5 peacocks/haps and specifying all males. The colors of these fish are amazing. The fins are all perfectly in line with no defects. They eat NLS right away.

When I order fish from now on this is where I will be ordering. No more LFS for me.

I don't usually write reviews, but Live Fish Direct has earned it. I've ordered from them 4 times so far and it's been a 100% live rate every time. I can't comment on customer service because I never have any negative reasons to call them!

As most, I was hesitant to purchase live fish online. However, coming upon LiveFishDirect, it has been one of the best things I've done in this hobby. In one sentence, the crew at LFD are simply amazing.

My first purchase was of two peacocks and two BN plecos. I sent LFD an email with some questions and was promptly answered by Isaac, who is awesome. He made sure I got the right plecos which were compatible with its tank mates. He also gave me his word that the fish would be plenty colorful and I didn't have to worry. Boy, was he right! The fish came all alive and healthy. I was so excited. Unfortunately, a few hours later, one of the fish, a ethylwynnae, had died. I had nothing to worry about though as Isaac issued me a credit for the fish. Talk about service!

Returning to LFD for my needs, I have purchased a total of 8 fish from them. Other than the ethylwynnae fish dying, all other fish couldn't be healthier. On my second order, I had asked for pictures of the fish to preview their color quality. I received an email from Isaac stating that their camera was broke. A little disappointed, I continued to read his email. He went on to say that since his camera was broke, he instead took a video of the fish with his phone and uploaded it to YouTube! Amazing service!

LFD has a great selection, the best prices around and absolutely top notch customer service. I'm am so thrilled to have found them as they are a gem to anyone in this hobby.
