"I will do business again"
I had a good experience with these folks recently with my first ever online fish order. I ordered two Aulonocaras online from them and they shipped them out the very next day. They were packed up very well and arrived alive. I did loose one days after they arrived however but after emailing them a picture of the dead fish I got a friendly response and a quick refund for my loss. Their pricing was a bit higher than most for the fishes I wanted but it's hard to beat their 5 day guarantee on fish. I would suggest giving them a try if they have the livestock your looking for.

"I Gave them a shot"
I decide to go with that fish place to try out NLS unfornately, I got one good formula the other was pretty much all mold. I called stayed on hold forever when the original person who answered the phone said they would check the batch and send me another. They must have not done that because the second was covered in mold. Same customer service next call and they said they would credit me which they didn't until I reminded them again that I never receive credit. I finally did receive my credit but I doubt I will try them again.

"A Company in a tail spin."
I used to love this place, it always seemed like a giant playground for fish buffs. I love their cost on goods, but lately, this place has been going down hill. I live about a hundred miles from the store and I used to justify the trip with the amount of money I save on goods. But in the last year or two the service has become non-existent. I went up there on Memorial Day for a light and they said they didn't have it in stock in the store or at their warehouse, but I stayed with a friend and checked in the next day and the shelves were full. They basically use sale prices to up-sell people. The manager refused to even apologize for not having the product in stock on day 1 and upon my return she saw men and then when I asked for her I was informed "she is on her lunch and will be back in a hour or so". So I have had a bad experience, that stuff happens. I forget about all that and once again make the trip for some livestock. When I get there the livestock are obvious hybrids, and when I ask the "expert" / "Marine Biologist" if they are going to do anything about the hybrids or even talk to the vendor he replies "Why would we". Their cichlid livestock is full of mislabeled poorly light hybrids. Buy livestock elsewhere. If you are going to order, don't order lights, they get broken in the mail and the current management refuses to do anything.

I chock this down to a place that USED to be a good fish place. I will be looking

"NO customer service"
I have ordered several times form this company, and while they do have cheap pricing on most goods, their customer service is utterly horrible, I spent over an hour on hold trying to fix a simple issue with an order and still got nothing. They also have a tendency to just ship items with no notification.

"Never ordered but have visited for 25 yrs"
I've never found a bigger selection or cheaper prices on dry goods. Huge store, huge selection, hit or miss service. I once tried to buy cichlids from a mixed tank and asked the employee which fish was which. He looked at what was written on the tank and told me the the fish (labelled OB) was the labeotropheus trewasse because OB stood for over-bite. When I told him it stood for orange blossom/blotch, he angrily replied "we have a marine biologist on staff!". If you visit, avoid weekends. The crowd is insane-huge lines, no parking, etc.

"Great store-questionable knowledge (Fridays at least)"
I recently went down to TFP it's about an hour and half drive round trip. I went there for one thing demasoni. I did my research got advice from the site. First, they weren't very busy and they were slow to aid. When I requested 12 demasoni, the girl ran to her manager who told me I'd end up with 1 or 2 and I may get a "pair", funny they're not pairing fish. When confronted with this fact the manager came back with, "well, they're pseudotropheous, you can't have more than 1 or 2, you know pseudotropheaous". I wasn't impressed and left without purchasing the fish as hard as that was. I have a lead on a breeder and I'm more than happy to give them my money, I doubt I'll ever return to TFP.

"Amazing Store"
The Stingray petting area was awsome. Purchased a fluval filter, the man explained it to me very nicely and in conversation i told him i live in town and have clorine in my water, so he put a "paid" sticker on a bottle of water conditioner and gave it to me FREE just for buying the filter, which was at there 20% off sale so i was already getting it cheap, the filter works awsome and i will be returning there shortly for there 5.99 demasoni!!!

"This place is great!"
I just received my second order from TFP and I am impressed. Not only did my order arrive on time and well packed, but there was a bonus AC70 filter in the box that I didn't order. I called them to let them know of the mistake, and they told me to keep it and thanked me for being honest. This place is great!

"Best place to get supplies!"
I've never used them for live fish, but a coworker has purchased Saltwater fish from them and has been very pleased.
She gave me a catalog, and I've been "HOOKED" ever since.
Best prices, best service, superfast delivery. I buy other pet supplies from them, and the quality and prices can't be beat. I hope to actually visit the store one day, but know I had better take a large vehicle. Their filters, pumps, and tanks have excellent prices, so I KNOW I'll come home with another tank!
I've shopped at TONS of other pet supply stores, and this one tops my list.
But when you place your order, don't forget to check out the dog leashes, grooming supplies, pet toys etc. THEY HAVE IT ALL!

"They price match!"
I've always used TFP because they are fairly close by, but I've seen better reviews on some of the other retailers. I had an emergency need for an impeller cover ($2 part) to fix a broken filter and figured I'd order a bunch of other supplies as well. Problem was, some of the other on line retailers had better prices than TFP, but they didn't have the impeller cover, which was the whole point of the order. Well, I just called TFP with the pricelists for all three stores on my monitor. The salesperson looked up each item on the other sites and gave me the lowest price, allowing me to pick and choose. There was no hassle at all, save for one food item where the other site had the can size posted in grams and TFP had it in a metric. After a quick calculation, I got that match too. It took about 20 mins extra to look up the items and call it in, but it saved me 15% on a $100 order. I apologized for the effort I required to make the sale and the salesperson said it was no problem at all.

"TFP is a good supply dealer"
I visit on a monthly basis I live at a 1/2 hour away. I mainly go there for my supplies. I look at the fish everytime I'm there but their quality of fish can be very poor. I was just there this past weekend and they were selling hybrids, I guess you could say that I was a little shocked to see that. I visit another store for my fish(I don't think they are a sponser) and I have never seen a hybrid for sale! TFP also can be incorrect on their labeling of the fish, so just be carefull with their fish stock.

"Great For Equipment and Supplies, Not So Much For Fish"
I'm a TFP regular--I live about 40 miles from the store so get there at least every other month. I've also bought things online when I can't make the drive. The stock of equipment and supplies is amazing, and the prices very good. Most things run 25%-60% less than large chain stores. My only gripe is that they rearranged the store recently and I've had to re-learn where everything is. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. I bought a bulb last week and they grabbed it and tested it at the checkout. I am much less happy, though, with their fish. The prices are good but the display is lousy--plain glass tanks--and the health is often problematic. I see more dead or diseased fish there than nearly any other store I use. I did get a baby arowana from them just because the price was so great ($8) but usually do my fish shopping elsewhere. One other point--they can be a bit slow shipping online orders. They are pretty good, though, at answering email queries. I took my UV sterilizer apart and couldn't figure out where a part went. I emailed them a picture and they solved my problem in about 24 hours.
